Schedule of Events in Stanley Park
9:30 am – Opening ceremony with Squamish Hereditary Chief, Ian Campbell and civic leaders
9:45 am – 3 pm – Educational activities and information for learners of all ages including but not limited to:
- Orienteering with VSBTREK students
- Powwow Dancing withThe Wild Moccasin Dancers, including our friend and supporter Shyama Priya
- Singing with Sandy & Friends
- Scavenger Hunts and nature book give-aways hosted by the B.C. Literacy Council (BCLCILA) and United for Literacy (formerly Frontier College).
- Indigenous Author Book Talks co-sponsored with Wild About and BC Lit Council
- Nature Book Talks
- Nature Walks with Vancouver Park Rangers
- Wild About Outdoor Learning Festival Training with Dr. Hart Banack(for people wanting to host Wild About Outdoor Learning Festival in another B.C. community).
- ParticipACTIONinformation booth and free APP registration.
- WILD ABOUT YouTube Station –What are you wild about when you’re outdoors?
- Online Survey Station – What are the barriers and supports for you to get outside and active in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia?
- SWAG and drag prizes
3:30 pm and beyond – Enjoy the park and the beach. Grab a blanket, pack a picnic, or line up at the concession for fish and chips!
