Have you ever gone for a walk with your family and come across a plant that you have always been curious about but just don’t know the name?  I suggest you download the free app Seek, by iNaturalist (LINK).

This app allows you to hover your phone’s camera over a plant and it will (most often) tell you the species of plant (and give you some information on it).  Give the phone to your child and watch as they run around trying to learn new species!  The app also has the option of doing a scavenger hunt like adventure challenge where you are asked to find different species to collect “badges”.  Seek also works for birds, insects and mammals.

Great fun for the whole family!

What is that plant, anyway?
