Tidal WAV 2022

Wild About Vancouver aims to encourage wide spread participation in outdoor activity for physical health, mental health, and STEAM learning. The TIDAL WAV is an annual festival to celebrate participation in outdoor activity and learning, as well as to inform participants about the possible opportunities.

TIDAL WAV 2022 will take place at Second Beach in Stanley Park on June 3, 2022.  Forest Rangers will be providing guided walks that include the Blue Heron Rookery and Queen Elizabeth II’s oak tree.  Dr. David Zandervliet of The Institute of Environmental Learning / SFU and Dr. Hart Banack of the University of Northern BC, will be facilitating talks on ocean literacy and climate change.  The BC Literacy Council of the International Literacy Association (BCLCILA) and Frontier College will be sponsoring outdoor learning activities and providing free books to support outdoor learning for K-7 students.  There will be a huge Mud Kitchen on Second Beach.  Volunteers from VSB Outdoor Learning programs will be facilitating cooperative games on the two playgrounds, yoga, and more.  Shyama Priya and team will be providing Indigenous teachings and jingle dance sessions.  And hopefully we will be able to bring Gurdeep Pandher of the Yukon to Vancouver to lead us in Bhangra dancing.  Other activities will be dependent on volunteers stepping up to facilitate activities.  Follow the tab To Get Involved!
